The Great Sphinx is next to the Great Pyramids. It is about about 225 feet long. The missing nose is partly due to erosion by wind and partly to the cannon of the Malelukes who used it for target practice.

This is the step pyramid of Zoser at Sakkarah. It was the first burial pyramid in the world and was the prototype for the Great Pyramids. It is almost 200 feet high and was originally covered with a smooth layer of stone that has disappered. It was built about 2750 BC.
